To be honest, I was a little biased when I saw this one at a local record store in vienna. Latin influenced Jazz always had a slightly cheesy connotation, to me. To my surprise this album and the tracks on it are nothing close to the cheesy sound I expected, when giving it a spin for the first time. You can really hear the clear and wide sound which is advertised on the cover. Not only does it sound like a modern day recording, which is pretty impressive, considering the fact, that it was released in 1962, the recording also provides such a clear stereo image, you can easily locate every instrument in the original recording setup. The Record is a true masterpiece both musically and in terms of sound quality.
