  • Belying its somewhat cheaply designed cover, this is probably Bobby's best album. It all hangs together as a cohesive almanac of heartache and grief. Of course, most of Bobby's songs concern affairs of the heart - usually broken ones - but this album really works as a sort of concept album.One night in the '90s I was at a loose end at home. Ruminating on a life gone wrong at that point, broken relationships, loneliness, bordeom and solitude. I was climbing the walls. Then I put this album on ... and everything was ok. I thought to myself" "Bobby understands".
