  • With "1992" The Game takes the listener back to the year 1992, the year of the L.A. Riots, when he was a 12/13-year-old. He gives listeners a clue of why he is the way he is today. "…went to jail for some football cards, / I can't go out like OJ…" he quips on F*** Orange Juice. The Game then flips the Soul II Soul's "Back To Life (One World Remix)" sample perfectly on "However Do You Want It". "92 Bars" is another standout track, with rapper Meek Mill being the target of The Game's scathing disses. You see a young African-American man with numerous tattoos bragging about being from a street gang. But I see a very smart entrepreneur (he owns his own record label) who, through his music, went from 'negative to positive'. Through his lyrics, the Game provides an outlet for the frustrations of the inner-city youth, which often manifest itself in guns and violence. Respect the man for a) being one of, if not the most entertaining rapper in the game today (the last I checked, music was a form of entertainment) and b) his consistency (10+ albums since 2005). If not a classic Game album, "1992" is close to it.
